All-Girls League is designed for girls grades 2-8 who want to learn and grow in the game of basketball and compete against their peers. Highlights are ball handling skills, shooting techniques, shooting drills, passing, rebounding and defense. Each session will begin with skills and drills and conclude with a full court game.
The players will be trained and coached by local female high school players during the skills and drills sessions. NJB will ask for 1-2 parent volunteers per team to coach the players during the games.
Sessions will be conducted at four locations: El Modena HS, El Toro HS, Rosary HS and Corona HS. When registering, choose the location you'd like to participate at.
Rookie League is designed for the players to learn the game with basic fundamentals taught each week. Highlights are shooting, ballhandling, passing and defense skills from the coaches. Each session will conclude with controlled scrimmages with emphasis on teaching the players how to play defense and offense in a team structure. Games will take place towards the end of the season with teams formed with exciting play on the court.
We need all parents to participate during the league and we require coaches to assist on teaching the players the fundamentals of the game on the court.
Rookie League does not have team practices during the week. Each player will receive a basketball and uniform to bring to each session.
